Yuriko Matsuda
Yuriko Matsuda came to the UK at the age of 14 to study with Professor Arisa Fujita. In 2013 she was awarded a place at the Yehudi Menuhin School, which led to her participation in music festivals such as the Menuhin Festival Gstaad as well as a tour in Germany. She currently studies at Guildhall School of Music & Drama with Krzysztof Smietana, benefitting from a generous school scholarship. She is an enthusiastic solo, chamber and orchestral performer: recently she was selected to attend the Akoesticum Talent Programme in Holland, where she worked with David Dolan and Jan Talich, and participated in Orchestra Artistry workshops and side-by-sides with members of the London Symphony Orchestra. Last year she was invited as a guest leader of London Schools Symphony Orchestra for a concert at Barbican Concert Hall. She has won many prizes in Japan, including the third prize at Yokohama International Music Competition in 2016.
