Kanae Furomoto

Kanae Furomoto studied at the Royal Academy of Music, firstly with Lois Phillips and later with Hamish Milne to complete both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She was awarded several scholarships and prestigious prizes from inside and outside the academy. She also received a M.Mus. from the University of London.

She participated in the masterclasses of eminent artists such as George Sebok, Andras Schiff, John Lill and others.

Her debut recital in Tokyo in 1995 was highly acclaimed and was subsequently broadcast on the radio station NHK-FM. In 1999 she played at the Purcell Room in London as a chosen soloist for the PLG Young Artist Concert Series. She also made a significant contribution to the JAPAN 2001 cultural promotion in Britain by playing Japanese music at many events.

She has been regularly performing not only in the U.K. and Japan but also in Norway, the U.S.A, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Austria and China.

Besides being a soloist, she is a keen ensemble player and has played with well-known artists like cellists Maria Kriegel, and Adalbert Skocic, violinists Jin Matsuno and Narimichi Kawabata, and singer Charlotte de Rothschild. Her future engagements include a concert with a renowned flutist Harrie Starrveld.
