Kanako Wakatsuki

As a soloist, chamber musician, and a dedicated teacher, Kanako is actively performing and teaching both in Japan and UK. She has performed at numerous venues including The Pump Room, Bath, The Old Hall at Lincoln's Inn, and St James's Piccadilly, and she continues to take part in numerous music festivals, public and private concerts. Her repertoire varies in wide range from Baroque to Modern but she is particularly fond of music by J.S.Bach. She was a successful participant in the International J.S.Bach Competition in Leipzig in 2006.

Having studied at Toho Gakuen School of Music, Tokyo, and the Royal College of Music, London, her musical achievement was led by Masako Matsuda, Nobuyoshi Kato, the late Yonty Solomon, Andrew Ball, and Simon Nicholls. She has also worked with renowned pianists such as John Lill, Sergey Dorensky, Karl-Heinz Kammerling, and James Lisney in Masterclasses.  She has also received the guidance from Julian Jacobson, Ruth Nye, Itzak Rashkovsky(vl.), Richard Deakin(vl.), Koichiro Harada(vl.), and Louise Hopkins(vc.) in Chamber music approach.

In recent years Kanako is kept busy as a teacher, and currently she holds a position of a visiting piano teacher at Connaught House School, London. She also regularly accompanies young talented musicians in exams, auditions, and concerts and enjoys sharing her passion for music with them.

St Sepulchre-without-Newgate, also known as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Holborn), is an Anglican church in the City of London. It is located on Holborn Viaduct, almost opposite the Old Bailey. In medieval times it stood just outside ("without") the now-demolished old city wall, near the Newgate. It has been a living of St John's College, Oxford, since 1622.
