Masahiro Yamaguchi

Born in Japan, Masahiro Yamaguchi played the piano at home but did not take formal lessons until he was fourteen. After entering the Tokyo College of Music he was awarded several scholarships to continue his studies. He holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Music from Tokyo College of Music where he studied with Emiko Harimoto, Eisuke Tsuchida and Hitoko Kurasawa.

Masahiro has been awarded first or special prizes in competitions including Italia Piano Concors, San-Daniele International Piano Meeting in Italy and PTNA Piano Competition. He has given performances in Italy, UK and Japan. His playing has been broadcast on BBC Radio3, Itscom TV and Radio, and has also performed with various orchestras, such as Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and Tokyo College of Music student Orchestra.

He is currently studying on the MA progamme in piano at the Royal Academy of Music with Christopher Elton, Joanna MacGregor and Carole Presland. Masahiro was awarded Cork Fund Award, Margaret Kitchin Scholarship and Foundation Award from the RAM. He is also supported by YAMAHA Music Foundation.

His future engagement includes performances at Dukes hall and Steinway Hall London, Japan and Ireland.

St Sepulchre-without-Newgate, also known as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Holborn), is an Anglican church in the City of London. It is located on Holborn Viaduct, almost opposite the Old Bailey. In medieval times it stood just outside ("without") the now-demolished old city wall, near the Newgate. It has been a living of St John's College, Oxford, since 1622.
