Albany Piano Trio

Pippa Harrison - Piano
Gemma Sharples - Violin
Verity Evanson - Cello

Founded in 2010, the Albany Piano Trio has performed throughout the UK and is beginning to establish itself as an exciting new ensemble. The Trio have participated in masterclasses with Ian Brown, Lowri Blake, Alexander Janiczek, Alexandra Woods, Adrian Bradbury and the Endellion Quartet. They also take part in the ChamberStudio masterclasses at King’s Place where they work with Susan Tomes and Simon Rowland-Jones.

This year the Trio have been offered the Richard Carne Junior Fellowship at the Royal College of Music to commence in September 2013, and have recently been selected by Making Music for inclusion in its Concert Promoters' Network 2013/14 Guide. Other concert experience includes performances around the UK as part of Live Music Now, which the trio have been connected with since 2012. Future engagements include their debut recital at the Fairfield Halls; a recital at the International Harrogate Festival; and an invitation to the International Musicians Seminar, Prussia Cove where they will be studying with Robert Levin.

Past concerts include performances in the Brighton Fringe Festival at the Chapel Royal; the Harrison Sisters' Players Series; and at London venues including St. James's Piccadilly, St Olave’s Church, the National Gallery, and St Martin in the Fields. The trio regularly attend music masterclasses and summer-schools, receiving scholarships to Dartington International Summer School in 2011 and 2012, and attending Pro Corda.

The Albany Piano Trio has a particular interest in programming works by female composers, both celebrated and lesser-known, alongside the classic cornerstones of the piano trio repertoire. This has led to performances of works by Clara Schumann, Judith Weir, Sally Beamish and Lili Boulanger with further recitals and commissions to follow in the future.

The Albany Piano Trio is generously supported by Francis and Caron Fernandes.

St Sepulchre-without-Newgate, also known as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Holborn), is an Anglican church in the City of London. It is located on Holborn Viaduct, almost opposite the Old Bailey. In medieval times it stood just outside ("without") the now-demolished old city wall, near the Newgate. It has been a living of St John's College, Oxford, since 1622.
